Saxophone Mouthpieces
We are very proud to offer the latest in high quality Saxophone Mouthpieces for the discrimination Classical and Jazz Artist. These mouthpieces are available for the entire Saxophone family.

LOMAX CLASSIC
A new design that produces a larger, darker, and warmer sound than has been available. Available in three facings, (med. close) 1.55, (med.) 1.65, (med. open) 1.75.

NEW YORK JAZZ
These mouthpieces are patterned after the old New York Meyer Mouthpieces, only have more presence of sound, and richer overtones. Great for many jazz styles including BeBob and Big Band. Available in five facings: 5m, 6m, 7m, 8m, and 9m.

L.A. Studio
Patterned after the popular old mouthpieces used by the west coast studio musicians of the fifties and sixties. Available in: 5m, 6m, 7m, and 8m.

New Classic "C" Series mouthpieces
With the rising cost of the very popular Selmer S-80 saxophone mouthpieces we have had some dealers and individuals asking us to offer a handcrafted alternative. Our new "C" series mouthpieces have the same style "square" throat walls as the Selmer mouthpieces. We think the sound is even richer and the price is less than a mass produced piece! Available in two popular facings, the C+ and C++, for both alto and tenor sax.

New Classic "D" Series mouthpieces
This is our darkest and richest sounding mouthpiece for classical and concert band playing. This mouthpiece features a "half round" chamber wall and is available in two facings. The "D" and "D+", for alto sax only.

Prelude
The Prelude Sazophone mouthpiece for Alto and Tenor Sax, features the same medium facing and tip opening as the popular Selmer S80 C* mouthpieces, at a fraction of the price!

"Michael Lomax has been called the new Frank Kaspar and that is faint praise in my opinion. His Prelude student mouthpieces are of professional caliber at one third the price, and his professional models are state of the art. Already a legend to clarinetists, Michael is now raising the bar in the saxophone world. My personal favorites are the L'Opera 3 clarinet mouthpiece, the Classic C+ Alto Saxophone mouthpiece and the LA Studio 7m Alto and Tenor mouthpieces.

After years of searching for saxophone mouthpieces as good as my clarinet mouthpieces, I had settled on very fine stock mouthpieces from a well known manufacturer. Michael's saxophone mouthpieces blew them away. The C+ alto mouthpiece in particular satisfies all my classical requirements from chamber music right through solos with large ensembles. The centered, sweet, warm, rich and dark sound is just captivating. Low notes can be articulated ppp with incredible ease and the altissimo is also phenomenal.

Beauty of tone, great intonation, wide dynamic range, and fantastic response..what more can a musician desire? Possibly integrity, relentless research and innovation, and a genuine desire to work with and please the
performer.always in stock at Lomax Classic Mouthpieces."

"I use and endorse Lomax Classic's New York Jazz model alto saxophone mouthpiece. My custom Lomax mouthpiece is a #9 (Serial No: 1654) and I personally selected this one after playing several of Mike's meticulously hand-made pieces. I have been actively performing professionally in a variety of musical contexts for three decades. Beyond establishing a formidable technique, what distinguishes jazz saxophonists from the rest of the pack is the ability to truly capture their own unique artistic voice that is primarily based upon their own unique tone quality and unique individual sound. All of the jazz greats were able to do this. Therefore, my artistic approach to jazz artistry realizes a diversity of inherent demands from a mouthpiece. Of utmost importance to my music in this regard, is that a mouthpiece facilitates achieving the most natural sound possible, impeccable intonation in all registers of the instrument, a quick full-bodied tonal response to a variety of articulation choices, and a free blowing immediate response at all dynamic levels. My Lomax Classic New York Jazz mouthpiece fulfills these artistic concerns and I also have discovered that finding good reeds is less of a hassle with this piece."

"As a legit and orchestral saxophonist, I'm looking for a mouthpiece that helps achieve a darker, warmer sound that doesn't sacrifice tuning evenness across the horn. The Lomax provides me with this, while allowing for stronger projection during those times when you're out in front of a large concert band or orchestra. The Lomax Classic makes it also just as easy to play the softest softs, while keeping articulations as light and precise as the quietest snare drum. This is all accomodated in a mouthpiece that I could never recreate with any over the counter mouthpiece."
